In his forty sixth year of exhibiting his sculptures, Louis, Michigan Native, has been living with his wife in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina since 1980, and was met with great reviews and critical acclaim.

Learning his welding techniques as an auto body mechanic, Louis works solely with an oxygen and acetylene torch for cutting and welding, he fashions sheet steel and steel rod into imaginative and very realistic creations.

The fury of the feathers, the ripping beak, the grabbing talons of his eagles and the aggressive energy of his animal subjects show a tensile strength that greatly contrast with the delicate airiness of his birds, fish, and flowers. The strong flowing lines of his trees are beautiful to the touch and the ore.

His sculpture is found in collections throughout the United States, Barbados, Canada, Egypt, Japan, Spain and Switzerland.
